Overview

We're on the hunt for a Data Engineer who is not just adept at database management but is also experienced in handling complex healthcare data. Your role will involve diving into database designs, ensuring they are optimized for our specific needs in the healthcare sector, and providing insights that support high standards of care.

Responsibilities

  • Database Management: Dive into and optimize database designs to enhance functionality and efficiency.
  • Data Reporting: Develop reports that illuminate insights from our data warehouse, focusing on healthcare-related data such as member, provider, and diagnosis information.
  • Data Integration and Cleanup: Handle data loads, perform data cleanup, and manage spreadsheet operations, specifically dealing with healthplan data including member, provider, eligibility, diagnosis, and pharmacy data.
  • Application Support: Serve as a bridge between various data sources and integrate them smoothly. Provide support for application configuration, data masters, account setups, and more.

Required Skills

  • Database Expertise: Solid skills in PostgreSQL, with additional experience in SQL Server and MySQL beneficial.
  • Healthcare Data Experience: Must have previously worked with healthplan data or been employed by a health plan or healthcare services company.
  • SQL Proficiency: Ability to design database schemas and write complex SQL queries.

Nice to Have

  • Technical Proficiencies: Familiarity with Ruby on Rails and Airflow; proficiency in Superset data visualization tool.
  • Specialized Knowledge:
    • Understanding of Risk Adjustment Factor (RAF) methodologies is a plus.
    • Experience with 837P EDI transactions used in healthcare for claim processing would be an asset.
  • Should be willing to work from 8 AM to 5 PM US- Eastern Standard Time(EST)?
