This isn’t contract work. This is a full-time, high-trust role inside a PE-backed product company that’s growing smart and fast. The team builds software for public safety agencies across the country — and they’re doing it with a modern stack, a lean team, and the kind of ownership most engineers say they want but rarely get.
You’ll be the fifth engineer on a team where your opinion carries weight. You’ll work directly with the VP of Engineering — someone who still writes code and wants a thought partner, not a task-runner. You’ll contribute at every level: fixing bugs, building features, shaping architecture, and helping modernize a legacy platform while writing net-new code in Angular and .NET Core.
This is a hybrid, in-office role in Tallahassee — so you need to be local or ready to relocate.
Write production-ready code in .NET Core and Angular
Help improve the architecture and expand engineering capacity
Work with product and analysts to build the right features
Read legacy code (including Perl — don’t worry, you won’t write it)
Be in the mix on day one: small team, quick onboarding, immediate impact
Help the team evolve how they work as the company grows
5+ years building in .NET
3+ years using Angular or React
Experience with SQL Server or MySQL
Some exposure to architecture or systems design
U.S. citizenship (required)
Willingness to pass a background check
Local to Tallahassee or willing to relocate
Comfortable working in a focused, collaborative team
Engineering here is small, steady, and smart. No politics. No egos. Just people who like solving problems and writing clean, useful code. The vibe is more quiet and focused — if you’ve got a bit of energy or edge, you’ll bring a welcome contrast to the crew.
